The LIFE Integrated Urban Klima 2050 project is the Basque Country’s largest climate action taking place. It will directly invest 19.8 million € in climate actions, 51% of wich will be financed by European Union. The project will transform the Basque territory by means of coordinating a total of 40 actions over six years. It will also facilitate the effective deployment of the Basque Country’s Climate Change Strategy-KLIMA 2050.

	Urban Klima 2050 positive about its progress despite the pandemic The Management Committee of the LIFE Integrated project has assessed the progress made in sectoral planning and policy actions, along with the pilot schemes in urban areas, on the coast and in river basins, and in setting up governance structures.
	A study spearheaded by AZTI warns of the vulnerability of the Basque Country’s beaches to climate change The work, carried out with the support of Ihobe and the LIFE Integrated Urban Klima 2050 project, predicts that beaches in the Basque Country will recede by between 10 and 45 metres by 2100.
	Urban Klima 2050 to be the Basque Country’s largest climate action project at the ADAPTtoCLIMATE international conference The virtual conference, being held as part of the LIFE UrbanProof project on 19 and 20 April, will bring together scientists, political representatives and of different European organisations and projects to discuss climate change and adaptation plans in the urban environment.
	The LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project develops a Guide for the elaboration of Local Climate and Energy Plans in collaboration with Udalsarea 2030 The guide will give Basque town councils tools for addressing the challenges of climate change and complying with present and future legislation.
