Ihobe works for the environmental improvement of the Basque Country in collaboration with other institutions and entities with specific competences in the water, air and energy field.
Specifically, the Basque Government’s Public Environmental Management Company shares objectives in different areas of environmental action with other entities affiliated with the Basque Government's Department for Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment:
- URA - Basque Water Agency is the entity of the Basque Government that is responsible for implementing water policies in the Basque Country to ensure the preservation of water bodies in good condition and the improvement and recovery of those in a poorer state. It also aims to reduce risks related to water, particularly in flood prevention policies.
- The Air Quality Control Network is an instrument for controlling and monitoring pollution levels in the Basque Autonomous Community, fulfilling the obligation of the Autonomous Communities to assess air quality in their territories.
- EVE – Basque Energy Agency whose mission is to propose the Basque Country Energy Strategies, under the criteria of supply guarantee, cost competitiveness, sustainability and technological development; and actively participate in their development and to contribute to the achievement of the objectives defined therein.
